BMW M3 - 2009-2013 : 4.0L E90 6-Speed | FW-148-AL| Clutch Kit
Description
Whether you have a bone stock BMW E90 Sedan, E92 Coupe, or E93 convertible M3
with the incredible S65 V8 engine and it's spec'd out with a manual
transmission, well aren't you lucky! However in our eyes, we see one major
flaw, the factory dual mass flywheel. The dual mass flywheel is a heavy chunk
of metal that is robbing your V8 of that F1 inspired technology that went into
designing the S65 engine. From experience, these cars end up being an even
greater joy to drive with a lighter rotating mass, allowing that engine to hit
its 8,300 RPM rev limit just a bit faster. Not only does our lightweight
flywheel allow the engine to rev up faster, it also helps in a drivers ability
to perform rev matched down shifts.
Our lightweight flywheel for the E9X M3 has been engineered to meet everyone's
needs. Weighing in at 15 pounds this is a great weight for everything from
street driven examples, to full race-cars. Our single mass flywheel will
enhance anyone's driving experience and dare we say it, they're ability to
drive these cars just that much closer to the limit with greater confidence
(no guarantees though). These flywheels are CNC machined in the USA in our
state of the art machine shop from a single piece of 6061 billet aluminum.
Each flywheel is measured for tolerances out of the machine, then hard
anodized to protect the mating surfaces and threads. After anodize the
flywheel is assembled with a replaceable steel insert, ring gear with
integrated trigger, and is checked over by a Clutch Master craftsman before
receiving it's stamp approval to be boxed up and ready for your car.
These flywheels will accept the factory clutch kit or any of our FX Series
single disc clutch kits. On top of that, we have taken it a step further and
developed a complete twin disc solution that uses a factory cover and is then
paired with one of our FX series stages, allowing the customer to choose from
a variety of different friction materials to best suite their needs and goals
for the car.
