Share
Attention, VW 1.8T MK4 owners! Looking to tidy up that engine bay and make your setup as streamlined as it is powerful? Carrot Top Tuning has you covered with our 1.8T VW MK4 Engine Tucked Harness. Available in three levels (the third one’s coming soon!), this harness was designed with versatility in mind for everything from daily drivers to dedicated track beasts. Here’s a breakdown of what each stage can do for you and why upgrading your harness could make a huge difference.
Why Carrot Top Tuning? Quality, Durability & Simplicity
Our harnesses are built with PTFE Teflon high-temp resistant wiring, which means they can handle temps from -90°C to 260°C. So whether you’re ripping around a track or navigating city streets, you’ve got a reliable setup that won’t flinch under the heat. Every connector is labeled (goodbye, guessing game), and we’ve added a milspec quick-connect on the frame rail for fast plug-and-play installation.
Stage 1: The Basics, but Better
Our Stage 1 kit is all about simplicity and function. It includes a 40-pin engine loom with a quick-connect feature that makes popping it in and out a breeze. Want a no-fuss setup that won’t require rewiring the whole car? This is it. It’s also compatible with the original 81-pin side harness, so you can keep things straightforward.
Stage 1 Highlights:
- 40-pin ECU engine loom with easy quick-connect for fast installation
- Compatible with the OE 81-pin side harness, so it’s just plug-and-play
Stage 2: Complete Wiring Setup for Serious Builds
If you want a more comprehensive setup, Stage 2 goes beyond the basics. You get both the 40-pin main loom and the 81-pin connector. This stage covers all the critical stuff like the O2 sensor, Main ECU Relay, Fuel Pump Relay, Starter Signal, Reverse Lights, MAF Sensor, and Coil Power Input. It’s a great choice for builds that need a bit more flexibility and control, especially if you’re adding extra components or running more power.
Stage 2 Highlights:
- Full 40-pin loom and 81-pin connector for all essential functions
- Comes with integrated relays and sensor hookups for ultimate flexibility
- Perfect for setups with auxiliary fuel pumps, MAF, and even MAF-less configurations
Stage 3 (Coming Soon): Ultra-Clean Engine Bay Look
For the show-stoppers out there, Stage 3 is designed to give your engine bay a super clean, tucked look by allowing body harness relocation. This option will be ideal for high-powered builds or cars that see a lot of attention under the hood. Stay tuned—this one’s in development!
Thoughtful Features for Simplified Setup & Maintenance
Beyond just looking good, our harnesses are designed for real-life use. Need a Fuel Pump Relay for an extra AUX pump? It’s included. Want to run a MAF-less setup or add a wideband O2 sensor? Done. We’ve even added a removable coil expansion harness and N75 boost controller support for manual boost adjustments. Plus, there’s an O2 sensor hookup specifically for an AFR gauge, so you can monitor air-fuel ratios easily without running more wires.
